Vera Jean Schrepferman

Vera Jean passed away peacefully on April 24, 2009. She was born in Denver, CO on March 6, 1928 to Harry and Vera Kunz. Vera Jean was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and graduated from the University of Colorado in 1949. She was an avid tennis player at the Denver Country Club, a member of the Junior League of Denver, a keenly knowledgeable gardener, and a long time Board member of Craig Hospital. She is survived by her first husband David Knowlton, and her three daughters, Judy (John) Reins of Littleton, Kay (Jeff Childs) Knowlton of Guam and Colorado, and Joy (John) Kinney of Aurora, as well as five grandchildren; Tommy and Grace Reins, and Hayley, Katharine, and Tucker Kinney. In 1985, Vera Jean married Richard Schrepferman, who died in 2005. She is survived by four step-children, Steven (Rae Lene) Schrepferman of Cody, Wyoming, Kristine (David) Warner of Denver, Gretchen (Joe) Sprague of Denver and Cynthia Schrepferman of Boulder and ten step-grandchildren; Paul and Doug Schrepferman; Erinn and Austin Warner; Ben, Ellie and Billy Sprague; and Jack, Charlie and Sally Bevis. She is preceeded in death by her cousin Katharine Kunz Dodge. Vera Jean's smart, funny and feisty spirit will be missed by all who knew her. She will be honored at a private, family-only service at Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Craig Rehabilitation Hospital, 3245 S.
