Verna Jane Hames

Verna Jane Hames (Raisanen) passed away January 1, 2010. Born July 26, 1923 in Hibbing, Minnesota, she graduated from the University of Minnesota Nursing School in June, 1945. She served as a US Cadet Nurse from May 1, 1945 to October 1, 1945. She married Eugene S. Hames, in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 30, 1947, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Hames, her sons John and Thomas (Amy) Hames, and two granddaughters, Jordan and Lauren Hames, all of Denver. A service celebrating her life will be held 11AM, Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 4500 E. Hampden Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the 10th Mountain Division Foundation, Inc., 133 S. Van Gordon St., Lakewood, CO 80228.
