Verna Young passed away at her home on March 9, 2025 as a centenarian. She was born in Minnesota of German descent. She grew up on the family farm with her 3 brothers and a sister and was the middle child. They all went to school in a one room school house. As she grew older, she went to high school in town and graduated when she was 16! After high school she attended Business School for 2 years. During the WWII she worked for the government as a secretary. Over her life, she was a secretary at a court house, a lawyer’s office, an insurance office, a State Legislature, a land & cattle company, and a cleaning product distributor. In the late 1940’s, she became one of the first stewardesses for Continental Airlines. She and her husband were married in the early 1950’s Over their marriage, they lived in Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado. She enjoyed reading, knitting, sewing, crossword puzzles, playing bridge, and volunteering at the library. She was a member of P.E.O. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, her parents, and her siblings. She is survived by her 2 daughters, a son-in-law, 5 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Her biggest joy in her life was watching her 2 children, her 5 grandchildren, and her 11 great-grandchildren grow and flourish.
There will be a private interment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
