Vernon Burt Selby (Born May 2nd, 1936 – Passed away January 3rd, 2010), beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survived by his wife, Mary Ann; daughter, Debra (Paul) Coler; son, Randall (Carrolin) Selby; son Timothy (Jeanne Franco) Selby; step-son Greg Worthington; step-daughter, Robi (Mark) Fanoele; step-son, Brad (Tami) Worthington; and step-son Paul (Laura) Worthington. Grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Paul (Anna) Coler, Kelly (Dan) Morrell; Christopher Coler; Sean Coler; Randy (Sophia) Selby; Sonya (Ben) Selby; Jesse Selby; Casey Selby; Nicholas Selby; Zachary Selby; Mike Worthington; Jordon Worthington; Chelsea Worthington; Jimmy (Jennifer) Fanoele; Robert (Karla) Fanoele; Valerie Messer; Maria Fanoele; Eric Worthington; Brittany Worthington; Danielle Worthington; Amanda Worthington; Rebecca Worthington; and Alexander Worthington. Great-grand (and step) children, Ryan Coler; Dylan Coler; Chad Coler; Alison Morrell; Caden Morrell; Leila Messer; Georgia Messer; Randy Selby III; Alyssa Fanoele; Alex Fanoele; Noah Fanoele Born in Max, Nebraska and raised in Denver, Colorado, Vern attended South High School graduating in 1954, and received his bachelor's degree from Colorado University in 1975. The majority of Vern's forty-two year career was spent in Aerospace working for Lockheed Martin (Martin Marietta) with a one year period working for the State of Colorado Penitentiary system. Vern's career gave him the opportunity to live in various areas of the country to include Louisiana, Florida and California. Vern was a valued volunteer for numerous associations in the Denver area. He contributed and volunteered extensively for the Mile High United Way for over 50 years. He also volunteered for the Denver Center of Performing Arts for sixteen years, MARS (Lockheed Martin Retirement Association) for 10 years, the Community Bible Study for four years, and attended and volunteered in various capacities at the Harvey Park Baptist Church over a 45 year span. Vern will be sadly missed by his extensive family. His memorial service will be held, Saturday, January 9th at 2 PM at Harvey Park Baptist Church, 2112 S Patton Ct, Denver, CO 80219. The family asks that donations be sent to Harvey Park Baptist Church or The Denver Hospice at 501 South Cherry Street, Suite 700, Denver, CO 80246.
