Vicki Dawn Edwards Barone

Vicki Dawn Edwards Barone, age 59, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 surrounded by her family at her home in Lone Tree, CO. Vicki battled Acral Lentiginous Melanoma and fought gallantly.

Vicki was born December 28, 1959 in Temple, Texas, to Rose Galli (George) and Thomas Jake Edwards (Ann).

She was a graduate of Golden High School (1978) and received her undergraduate degree in finance (1982) and master's degree in accounting (1993) from the University of Colorado. She worked as a Senior Managing Partner, CEO, and CCO of GVC Capital LLC in Greenwood Village, CO.

Vicki was a lover of good wine, dark chocolate, Aperol spritz, skiing, tennis, golf, and travel. Often, you would find her dancing to music ranging from Motown to disco to country. She was a committed friend, an incredibly loving wife, and fiercely devoted mother. She strived to live life to the fullest and cherished each moment. Vicki lead by example and shared her light and love with all who crossed her path. She touched the lives of many people who will remember her generosity and kindness.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Sumpmann; her children Dawn Barone, Zach Barone, Chandler Barone, Erin Sumpmann, and Derek Sumpmann; her mother Rose Galli and father Thomas Jake Edwards; her stepmother Ann Edwards; her grand-puppy Phoenix George Barone and numerous other beloved family and friends. Vicki was predeceased by her first husband, Stephen Barone and her brother Randy Edwards.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, April 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Mile Hi Church (9079 W. Alameda Ave., Lakewood, CO 80226).
