Violet A. (Zember) Karpinski, was born on October 19, 1923, in La Veta, Colorado, at the foothills of the beautiful Spanish Peaks. Violet is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Bernard S. Karpinski. Together, they shared over 60 wonderful, happy years together; traveling, square dancing and playing pinnacle with numerous good friends. In her retirement years, Violet enjoyed craftwork and volunteering at Porter Hospital in the Gift Shop. Violet is preceded in death by her parents, George, Sr. and Francis Zember and her brothers and sisters-in-law, George, Jr. (Adnelle) Zember and Louis (Margaret) Zember. Violet is survived by three siblings, Sr. Mildred Zember, O.S.B., Albert (Ginny) Zember and Wilma (Claude) Brown, Sisters-in-law, Rosalie Knoll and Jeanette Schnott, as well as several nieces and nephews. Violet devoted 44 years to Mountain Bell, serving as the private, executive secretary to several vice-Presidents for 35 years. She was devoted to her church, Most Precious Blood, and was a pillar of strength and compassion to her family. Violet will be remembered for her warm smile, and devotion to Bernie. Violet departed this life on December 13, 2012, in Pueblo, Colorado. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers and food, contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Colorado.
