Virginia Mary Barth passed away June 15, 2009. Born in Nebraska on May 23, 1924, she moved to Denver with her family as a young girl, growing up and attending school here. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 55 years, Florian F. Barth, and her siblings, Ruth Beardshear and Charles Powell. Virginia was always philanthropically active in Denver. She served as chairman of the Heart Fashion Show and sat on committees for The Central City Opera and the Denver Debutante Ball. She also served for many years on the board of Florence Crittenton Home. Virginia loved golf and enjoyed volunteering in the golf world with her husband, at the Columbia Classic LPGA golf tournament and also at The International at Castle Pines. With Florian, she helped found Havern School where they also started ""Chip in for Havern"", a fundraising golf tournament. She is survived and loved by her children Susan Dukes, Lise Bellmar (Ric) and David Barth (Leslie). ""Gaga"" particularly adored her grandchildren Jon (Amy), Chris (Larina) and Cammie (Buck); Michael, Nick and Chris. Bringing her much joy were her great-grandchildren Brandy, Hannah, Sophia, Kiera and Flynn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Havern School, 4000 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80123 or the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held on June 19th at 2:30 p.m. at Horan & McConaty, Colo. Blvd., with a celebration of life to follow at The Denver Country Club.
