Virginia Lois Brecko

Virginia Lois Taylor Brecko died at the age of 86 on April 5, 2009 at Cherry Creek Nursing Home in Aurora, CO. Virginia was born September 2, 1922 in Topeka, Kansas to parents Clarence E. and Ada Pearl Taylor of Ellis, Kansas. After graduating from Ellis High School she attended Fort Hays Kansas State College in Hays, Kansas where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. After completing two years of college she moved to Denver, CO to attend Business School. There she met PFC. Lewis C. Brecko. The couple was married in Ellis, Kansas on June 4, 1943. Following Lewisïéé½ military service, they resided in Pittsburg, Kansas and Overland Park, Kansas; finally returning to Denver, Colorado in 1961 where they originally met. Survivors include husband Lewis C. Brecko, Aurora, CO; sons Roger Brecko, Arlington, VA and Kenneth Brecko, Aurora, CO; Grandchildren Josh Brecko, Simla, CO, Kendra Cerda, Denver, CO; Kristen Crable, Aurora, CO, Amy Brecko, Aurora, CO and Sarah Brecko, Kansas City, MO; great-grandchildren Nathan Hill, Wyatt Brecko, Michael Cerda, Anthony Crable, and Josh Brecko, Jr. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Clarence E. and Ada Pearl Taylor and one grandson, Ben Brecko. Services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at Galilee Baptist Church, Denver, CO.
