Virginia (Koch) Brown passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008 after a long illness. Virginia was born March 15, 1927, in Denver, CO to Mr. Eugene and Mrs. Carmel (Guerrieri) Lamansky. Virginia is survived by son, Donald L. Koch and daughter, Pamela A. (Donald) Fuhrman; and long-time loving companion Rodney Brown. Virginia is also survived by a sister, Margaret (Barton) Darling, a brother, Richard Lamansky; two granddaughters; three great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins who affectionately knew her as ""Aunt Nina"". She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Eugene L. Lamansky, Jr. and Peter V. Lamansky. Virginia spent 29 years teaching in the Denver Public School system; many of her students would remember her as Mrs. Virginia Koch. In 1966, she received the National Freedom's Foundation Award for her work with the Denison Elementary School's patriotic program. She was an avid and astute bridge player and enjoyed traveling throughout the world. She was also an active member of All Saints Catholic Church for many years. A Memorial Rosary Service will be held Thursday, October 9, 10:30 AM, at All Saints Catholic Church, 2559 S. Federal Blvd., Denver, CO 80219, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to All Saints Catholic Church. A private family interment will be held at a later date at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
