Virginia Goebel went home to be with The Lord on April 15, 2021. She had 94 years of a happy life, filled with loving family, close friends, and a lifetime of rich experiences. She was born in Denver in 1926 and spent her formative years with her parents and brother Paul in Edgewater. She married Elroy Goebel in 1947 and enjoyed a marriage of nearly 50 years, ending in his death. They created a loving home in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and raised a family that produced four children: James (d.), Mimi (Bill), Tom (Rita), and Ann (d., John).
She was a devout Catholic, and was active in parish life at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Wheat Ridge for more than 50 years. She lived her life in Christian service to The Lord and her fellow man. She enjoyed outdoor activities, and nurtured a love of the mountains and the outdoors in her children that has lasted a lifetime. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she was a loyal friend and listener.
Virginia is survived by her daughter Marilyn (“Mimi”), and son Thomas, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Elroy, daughter Ann, and son James.
