Virginia Doris Smith

Virgnia Doris Smith, Born March 5, 1925 in Jersey City, NJ, ""Ginny"" passed away peacefully at home in Parker, CO on July 17, 2012. She was born to Garda and Charles Strong. She graduated from Teaneck HS, NJ in 1942 and Trenton State College in 1946. She married her HS sweetheart, Charles Smith. She lived in Scotch Plains, NJ and taught first and second grade. Upon retirement, Ginny and Charles moved to Denver to be with family in 1985. She loved to cook, quilt, do needlework, travel and play golf. She was predeceased by Charles in 2008. She will be greatly missed by her two daughters, Robin and Dale (Greg), grandsons Joshua and Jeremy (Cristina), great-grandchildren, Jackson and Chloe, and sister-in-law, Jeanne Smith of Emerson, NJ. There will be a family service at Fort Logan National Cemetary, Thursday, 6/28, followed by a Memorial Celebration for friends and family at 12:00 PM at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave (Parker Road) Aurora, CO 80014. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Virginia's name to the National Parkinson Foundation, www.parkinson.org.
