Virginia Lee Stewart, our loving mother, passed away on December 15, 2024. She was 84 years old. Born in Stockton, CA to Thomas Everett Phillips and Evelyn Buchanan. Virginia spent her early years of childhood in Stockton, CA and later lived in San Diego, CA, Chicago, Il, Kenitra, Morocco, and landed in Denver in the early 70’s for the remainder of her life.
She was a strong-willed woman who was devoted to her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Some of her qualities were her strength of spirit and unconditional love for her children and grandchildren. No holiday was complete without her famous carrot cake or a birthday without her chocolate cake.
She had a passion for cutting hair and put herself through Barber school to become a part of Hube and Ginny’s Barber’s. She truly loved being a barber and kept a large album with pictures of her many customers. She could tell you a story about each customer and was always happy to do so.
Virginia is survived by her son Craig Kent Hill, daughter Janet Lee Hill, her sister Diana May Rockey, and brother Charlies Phillips. She has 4 grandchildren, Alexander Ives Ober, Matthew Alan Ober, Stephanie Renae Blanton, and Andrew Kent Hill. Her great grandchildren are Gregory David Alan Ober, Heavenly Renae Ober, Renae Denise Ober, Anthony Allen Ober, Xander Scott Blanton-Garcia, and Zelda Renae Schuyler.
Virginia meets her father and mother, Thomas Everett and Evelyn Phillips, her brother Patrick Phillips, daughter Renae Denise Blanton, first husband Vaughn Kent Hill, and husband Hube Stewart and aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she loved dearly in Eternity.
Funeral services will be a private family event.
