Jenny was born in 1955 in Germany, the only daughter of Lowell and Lucy Pursell. She moved
to Texas where she lived until age 3. She then moved to Denver where she lived with her
parents until she was 20. Jenny graduated from Alameda High School in 1973. She worked at
Mile Hi Church as Pastor Fred’s secretary for several years. During this time, she started doing
some modeling for Vanoi Modeling Agency. She met her first husband during this time. He
was a professional photographer. They moved to New York City when she was just 21 years
old and they opened a successful photography studio which they ran for 17 years. Sadly,
Jenny contracted Lyme disease. After her recovery, she got a divorce and moved back to
Denver to care for her father who was in a V.A. Nursing home. He was a survivor of the Bataan
Death March in the Philippines at the start of WW II. He ended up in a Japanese POW camp in
Japan for 33 months. She was a very devoted daughter, visiting him often. In 1997, a girl
friend invited Jenny to come to a martial arts class where the friend’s son was taking a class.
Her future husband, Craig, was teaching the class. Afterwards, everyone went to dinner. Jenny
and Craig sat next to each other, shared a dinner and as they say, that was it. Craig was
smitten by Jenny’s beautiful smile and warm personality. Three months later, Craig asked
Jenny to marry him and they were married in June of 1998. They were together for almost 24
wonderful years. They loved to travel in their RV, driving and camping all over Colorado. Jenny
enjoyed going to antique malls, estate sales and thrift stores. She had a great eye for artwork
and fashion.
She studied and used natural and homeopathic medicines and was extremely knowledgeable
about them. Because of her passion and her ability to research information, she was able to
find a treatment for Craig’s skin cancer that resulted in a total cure without minor surgery.
She helped many people over the years get and stay healthy with her knowledge.
However, in the last several years, Jenny had two cases of severe pneumonia that damaged
and scarred her lungs resulting in her being placed on oxygen full time over the last two years.
On May 22, 2022, she was struck with a case of influenza that caused a severe asthmatic
attack resulting in her being rushed to the hospital. Sadly, even after 2 weeks of intense
medical treatment in the ICU, her lungs could not recover resulting in her being unable to keep
breathing. Jenny passed away June 6, 2022.
Jenny was a wonderful wife and companion. She was a caring and giving stepmother to our
son Matt and grandson James and to everyone she met. She gave freely of herself and her
things. She was always willing to help others if they asked and many times even when they
didn’t. She was always full of ideas and life.
She was and is Craig’s better half. She taught him how to live. She will be sorely missed by all
whom she touched.
We ask that GOD open his arms and receive his daughter home.
In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and savior we pray for her soul. Amen and amen.
My honey you will be sorely missed.
