Vivian Bengtson

Vivian Bergliot Bengtson, age 86, passed away at Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver, Colorado on Friday, October 16th due to complications from surgery.

She was born on October 4th, 1934 in Chicago, IL to Johanna (Mathea) and Karl Bengtson.   Vivian spent her career with Allstate Insurance Company in Human Resources, starting out in Chicago and transferring to Denver, Colorado in 1970, where she became a Division Manager until retiring in 1996.

Vivian was a vibrant and active member of Augustana Lutheran Church, holding many positions throughout the years. The church was her sanctuary.   She loved everything about it and made many wonderful friends throughout the years.   She also managed her Condo Association for many years, right up until her death.

She enjoyed traveling with close friends and took many trips to her mother’s homeland in Norway to visit family.  She loved all sports, especially the Denver Broncos.  She also enjoyed theater, going to the moves, and cooking.

Survivors include her brother Carl (Joann) and his children, Richard, Nancy (Ed), Mary (Sam), Kevin (Theresa) and Linda (Alex).  Her great nephews, Brock (Angel), Austin, Kevin, Michaela, Johanna, Frida and one great-great niece, Sydney Belle.  Vivian was preceded in death by her mother and father.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 24th, 2020 at 10:00am at Augustana Lutheran Church, 5000 East Alameda Ave., Denver, Colorado 80246.
