Vivian E. Davenport

June 5, 1929 — February 5, 2009

Vivian Elizabeth Davenport, 79, passed away February 5, 2009, in Denver, Colorado. She was born on June 5, 1929, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to Martin Toivo Ketola and Fannie Albertina Soori Ketola. Vivian loved her family. She so enjoyed their get-togethers when she would cook and bake and tantalize them with her aromatic gifts and talents; she was an excellent hostess. She was prayerfully sensitive, and responded to the needs of others. She enjoyed the beauties of God's world as she nurtured her flowers, lay on the warm beaches of Florida and swam in the coastal waters. She marveled at the majestic Colorado mountains and their magnificent colors. Vivian was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Vivian was a classy lady, a stylish dresser, and an outstanding person, loved by many. Vivian will be missed by her loving family and friends: her husband, Reverend Dwayne Hammond Davenport, of Denver; daughter, Janice Packett (husband, Jim) Evans, of Aurora, CO; step-children: Paul (wife, Carolyn) Davenport, of Granville, Iowa; Denise (husband, William) Keagy, of Centennial, CO; eight grandchildren: Jennifer, Justin, John, Brenna, Brensen, Krista, Lisa, Amanda; two great-grandchildren, Allison & Elle; sister, Edie (husband, John) McEvoy, of Washington D.C.; brother, William (wife, Dorothy) Ketola, of Lake Worth, Florida; sister-in-law, Sandra Kaufman, of Englewood, CO; nieces: Pat, Janet, Karen and Linda; and a nephew, Steve. Vivian was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at 1:00pm, at Harvey Park Christian Church (DOC), 3401 South Lowell Blvd, Denver. A Private burial will be held at a later date in the Golden Cemetery, Golden, Colorado. Memorial donations may be made to Halcyon Hospice, P.O.
