Vivian J. Orban

May 10, 1934 — November 24, 2011

Vivian Joan Orban passed away peacefully but unexpectedly on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2011. She is survived by Roger, her loving husband of 56 years, her six children: Roger (Patti) from Chicago, Laura, Kathy Eller (Steve), Bob (Pam), Tom, Paul, her 12 grandchildren: Nicole Orban, Brian Eller, Kristin Orban, Robert Orban Jr., Michael Eller, Dani Orban, Richard Roger ""Ricky"" Orban, Lauran Vivian Eller, Paul Orban Jr., Zara Orban, Samuel Roger Frank Orban and Brandy Suppi, her sister Mary Anne Greaney, her nieces Rita, Mary Kay, Katie, Trish, and her nephews, Tim, Ray, Jim and Ryan. Viv was a loving caring wife, mother, sister, Aunt and Grammy. She was born in Chicago, married there and raised most of her children in Oak Lawn, Illinois. She moved to Greenwood Village in 1980, when her husband took a job there. In her later years, she worked in the front office of the Denver Hilton Inn South. She loved her family with all her heart, and was so proud of all of them. She was an advocate for education and passed this value onto her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and loved to sit long and talk much, and had this saying in her kitchen. Her joy of motherhood was rekindled with each birth of her grandchildren, and as she showed them the true meaning of unconditional love. Over the years her trips and vacations to Arizona, Chicago, Disney, Mexico and Michigan with her family and grandchildren brought her great joy and many memories. She was a generous woman and was loved by so many. We will always love and miss her. Visitation, Wednesday, November 30th 4 - 7 pm with prayers & remembrances at 7 pm, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road (one block west of South Holly Street), Centennial. Funeral Mass on Thursday, December 1st at 12:30 pm at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8035 South Quebec Street, Centennial, followed by Burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
