Vonda Lee Sieber

June 19, 1952 — December 12, 2019

Vonda Lee Sieber, 67, of Aurora Colorado died at Aurora Medical Center on Thursday, December 12, 2019 surrounded by family and friends. Vonda is the beloved wife of John B Lee; loving mother to Gary Gray of Philadelphia, PA and grandmother to Connor Gray. She is survived by Gary and Connor as well as sisters Cheryl Wilhelmi (Greg) of Roundup MT and Lori Frankeny (Al) of Wilmington, NC and their families.

Vonda was born and raised on “the Northside”, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was an adorable toddler with big brown eyes and a Dutch boy haircut. She brought joy to everyone she met. She walked to John Morrow elementary school holding hands with her big sister, Cheryl. Vonda belonged to a loving extended family of grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. She went to church every Sunday followed by dinner at her paternal grandparents. Her mother's parents hosted festive holidays in their home, where barber Grandpa even gave haircuts. Her family was very musical, Mom was a singer, Dad played the piano... everyone sang and played something!

Vonda took piano lessons from her Welsh grandmother and played in recitals. She memorized music easily and could play by ear. Vonda loved to dance. She took up ballet and tap dancing while her mother made the recital costumes. Vonda sang in the Moon High School concert choir, as well as with her mother in the church choir.

Vonda cherished Christmas... Christmas music, Christmas decorations, and Christmas movies (even in July). At the same time she also loved sunshine, cruises and the beach. She was our glamour girl and fashionista! Her large closet was overflowing with shoes, leopard print, and hats. We will always remember her smiling, sitting at her makeup mirror.

When Vonda became a mother she was delighted and devoted to her son, Gary Lee. Years later she extended that love to her grandson, Connor Jack Gray. She loved hearing news and getting photos of Connor and his activities. She cared deeply for ""her twins"", nieces Andrea and Juliet, and lovingly followed sister Lori's children, Chelsea, Ali and Luke throughout their school and sports careers.

After coming to Colorado in 1982 Vonda was an active member of the Sertoma Club, serving her community while raising Gary. Vonda fought many health issues with an indomitable will and heart. Her belief in God was strong and she shared that faith with her husband. She worked in accounting for the Aurora Association of Realtors until her condition deteriorated. Prior to that she prepared taxes for Hutchinson Horn & Co.

She will be missed by a great number of people, whose hearts will smile when her name is mentioned. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the following charities:

Friends of St Andrews - an Aurora soup kitchen her family volunteers for, or Friends of St Andrews 1525 Dallas St Aurora, CO 80010
