W. Dean Halme

W. Dean Halme, 64 Died August 4, 2011 in Denver, Colorado. A resident of Aurora, Colorado he was a native of Norfolk and grew up in Ocean View and graduated from Barry Robinson in 1965. After serving in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era Dean made his career in retail management. Always an entrepreneur, he moved to Denver in the 1980's eventually opening his own spa accessory business called Tangent Manufacturing. Dean retired from Tangent in 2009. He jokingly said retirement turned him into a housewife. During his brief retirement he enjoyed his music, took acting classes and even took a professional clown class. Dean is survived by his wife Rita Martin Halme of Aurora, CO, step son Michael Mumaw (Jodi) of 29 Palms, CA, grandson Derek, brother Victor Halme (Martha) of Glen Burnie, MD and sister Regina Yeates (Johnny) of Virginia Beach, VA and numerous in-laws and nieces and nephews. Dean was preceded in death by his father and step mother Walter and Juanita Halme, his mother and step father Edwina and George Burns and grandson Xavier Mumaw. Dean will be remembered for his tremendous generosity, kindness and amazing sense of humor to his friends and family. As all his friends know he never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 4:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue (at Parker Road), Aurora, Colorado 80014.
