W. Jerry Kirk

February 26, 1925 — May 30, 2008

Jerry died on May 30, 2008 at the age of 83. He lived a long healthy and fun life. When thinking back about Jerry you can't help but remember a very loving, honest and all around fun guy. He always had a good story or an old joke to liven up the conversation or entertain the crowd. He was a very hard worker and was extremely generous with both his time and his possessions. Jerry Kirk was always willing to help you out. Jerry had a successful work life with the Los Angeles Unified School District from 1953 as a journeymen plumber to his celebrated retirement in 1986 as the Director of Central Facilities Services at which time he was honored by his co-workers and then Mayor Tom Bradley. Jerry also had a very enjoyable and productive 22 year retirement. He was always busy and had a project to keep his mind and body active. Jerry Kirk was a very well-loved man by his family and his many friends. He is survived by his wife, Betty Kirk; Daughter, Jerilyn Fisher and her husband, Bill; son, Scott Kirk and his wife, Norma; son, Timothy Moody and his wife, Shilo; 4 granddaughters, Kim Blake, Heather Krickbaum, Laurie Doane, and Kara Kirk; and 8 great-grandchildren. He will be sorely missed and always remembered for his gentle, kind and playful manner.
