Wallace Lee Tanner August 25, 1930 - November 9, 2015. Wallace was born in Boulder, Colorado and grew up in Boulder and Nederland. He attended Boulder High School where he held the shotput record for 40 years - distancing 53 feet and 2 inches. He then attended CU Boulder where he distanced 52 feet and 2.5 inches. He was an Army Veteran and, after getting out of the service, he became a high school history teacher. He taught at Skyview High School for 28 years where he created a career search and career resources program for the students. He received his Masters in Education from CSU Greeley. His passions in life were his family, fly fishing, and college football. He is survived by his loving wife LaJene, his loving children Cheryl Knight, Cindy Cole, Brian Sundstrom (Jody), Shandra Nagle, his beloved grandchildren Brian Owen (Sarah), Kevin Owen, Kaylene Hobbs, Zach Sundstrom, Caitlin Nagle, Annie Nagle, and his beloved great grandchild Ethan Owen. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 1:00PM at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 12099 Lowell Boulevard, Broomfield, Colorado.
