Walter ""Wally"" Flanagan

May 30, 1948 — July 3, 2017

Walter “Wally” Melvin Flanagan, 69, passed away on Monday, July 3rd 2017 in Denver, Colorado. He was born May 30, 1948 to Melvin Flanagan and Mildred Howe in Denver, Colorado. Wally was proud of his only daughter Stacey Fine and her husband Jason, of Arizona. He is also survived by two loving sisters, Susan Streeter and her husband Steve Rogers, and Roni Randall; his brother Michael (Pam) Flanagan and his father Melvin (Ursula) Flanagan; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Wally was a proud father, brother and friend to all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, stepmother Josephine Flanagan, and brother James Flanagan. Wally worked and retired as the Vice President of Walt Flanagan & Co and loved the family business. He enjoyed watching football, gardening, gambling, cooking for others and playing with his puppy Lola. He also was an avid collector of John Wayne and all sports memorabilia he could find. Wally proudly took loving care of his stepmother Josephine during her last 3 years of life along with his sister Susan. Family was a very important part of his life and we thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him. At Wally’s request, no services will be held at this time. His ashes are in Arizona with his daughter and in Colorado with his sister Susan and favorite brother-n-law Steve per Wally’s wish. Condolences may be sent to 17926 W San Juan Ave., Litchfield Park, AZ 85340. If you would like to express your sympathy please make a tribute gift in Wally’s name to Denver Dumb Friends League http://ddfl.org or to Foothills Animal Shelter https://foothillsanimalshelter.org In loving memory Stacey and Susan have dedicated “Just Like Them Horses” by Reba McEntire to a father and a big brother who will very much be missed every day! We love you! ""Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday."" — John Wayne Please share your condolences in the online guest book below.
