Walter Bruce Galt, 72, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Saturday, October 22, 2016 at his home in Denver, Colorado. At the time of his death Bruce was living in Denver with his beautiful and loving wife Susan Lee Galt and amazing mother in law Gretchen Hedin. He was born on May 7, 1944, in Verdun, QC, Canada to Walter John and Florence Juanita Galt. Bruce lived an abundant life and was blessed to have lived in many beautiful places throughout Canada, England and the United States. Bruce was a fun loving father, passionate husband, loyal friend and consummate Vice President with NORTEL Networks. Bruce was extremely loving and proud of his children: Tamara Galt Pitard (David), Quintin Walter Galt (Sara), his step-children, David Beutel (Fujie), Katy Beutel (Paul) and Kevin Beutel (Michelle) and his grandchildren, Gus & Chloe Pitard, Marley & Mackenzie Galt and Noah & Cameron Beutel. He enjoyed playing the role of ""storyteller,"" riding motorcycles, alpine skiing, visiting with old steam trains, the Boston Red Sox, flying remote control airplanes and re-engineering electronic gadgets. Bruce grew up in Valois, QC, Canada. He graduated from John Rennie High School in Pointe Claire, QC, Canada in 1962. After high school he attended Sir George Williams University (Concordia University) in Montreal, QC, Canada, where in 1967 he received a BSc in Math and Computer Science. His career spanned 35 years working for Amoco, Cominco, Bell Northern Research (BNR) and NORTEL Networks. The family will receive friends for a public viewing on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 2:00 until 5:00 PM at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Service, 5303 East County Line Rd, Centennial, CO 80122.
