Walter H. Schultz

Walt Schultz, 91, passed away in Denver February 8, 2009. Walt moved to Grand Junction in 1944 with his wife Lavina. In 1948 he opened the Home Style Bakery in partnership with his brother-in-law, Alfred Troester. The bakery continues to operate in Grand Junction today. Walt was an active member of the Messiah Lutheran Church until his move to Denver two years ago. He was an avid golfer, spending numerous days walking the links at Lincoln Park and Tiara Rado. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Lavina; his son Tim (Debbie); grandchildren Ty (Jenny) and Andi (John) Freyer; and great grandsons Jackson and Cutler Schultz. Memorial services will be scheduled in early summer.
