Trudy Baudinat , born Waltraut Liselotte Wagner, beloved mother, grandmother (Oma), great-grandmother , ultimate survivor and true friend to so many people during her life, passed away after a yearlong battle with lung cancer on December 25, 2013 at age 87. Trudy, a longtime resident of Aurora , Colorado, was born in Haffwerder, a fishing village in East Prussia on Sept. 9, 1926. Her family later moved to Reimanswalde, East Prussia and Karlsbad, Sudetenland where she attended business school. In November of 1945, after World War II, she obtained work with the US Army in Dachau as an interpreter and bilingual secretary during the War Trials. It is there where she met and later married Max Baudinat, a French Liaison Officer serving with the Allied forces in Dachau as part of the Liberation. Trudy loved dancing, gardening, reading, traveling and most of all spending time with her family and dear friends. She will be remembered for her generosity, honesty and her loving, caring spirit and will be so deeply missed by many. Survivors include her son James Baudinat, daughter Barbara Baudinat-Hacke (Scott), longtime companion Elbert Berger, grandchildren Nicolette , Tyler and Alex and great-grandchildren De'Antay, Jaylon and Aiyana.
