Edward, 70, of Denver, Colorado passed away September 14, 2016. Ed was born on August 3, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri to Ora Albert Weeks and Mattie Pearl Ponder-Weeks. Ed's father passed when he was four years old, and he became the step son to Boyd Moore. His family moved to Pyatt, Arkansas where Edward played on the high school basketball team and graduated in 1964. Enlisting in the U.S. Marines, Edward served his country during the campaign in Vietnam, reaching the rank of Sergeant before returning to civilian life in St. Louis, Missouri. There, he married his first wife, Maria Cecilia Salas, their children were born, and they began to raise a family. He worked in the steel industry. Following a divorce, Edward moved to Denver, Colorado and remarried. In those years, he worked at Hunter Douglas in manufacturing. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and building a life and home with M. Maxine Davis-Butler, who was his wife for 31 years. He is survived by his wife, Maxine; children, Rocio and her husband Alex, Robert and his wife Ari, Thomas and his wife Susan; step-sons, Douglas, Daniel and his wife Ann; siblings, Robert and Ann; grandchildren, Lindsay, Richard, Ray, Sophia, Tasha, Brandon, Marissa, Adam and Benjamin; many nieces and nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret and Juanita. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21, 2016, from 5-8 PM with Funeral Mass on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at 11 AM, all at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, in Thornton, Colorado 80229. Interment immediately follows at Fort Logan National Cemetery - Area C, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, in Denver, Colorado 80235.
