Warren Brown

Warren Charles Brown, 86, of Denver, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022. He was born in Denver, Colorado on September 26, 1935 to Earl G. & Caroline L. Brown. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley J. Reddick.

Warren attended Barnum Elementary and graduated from West High School June 1953. He graduated from CU Boulder with a Bachelor degree Science majoring in Civil Engineering in June of 1957.

He started working for the Colorado Department of Highways in June 1967. Warren worked for the highway department for a few months and then went on to military duty as an Army officer from September 1957 to October 1959. When returning from the military he went back to work for the highway department. Warren was in charge of the Vail Pass project as Senior Highway Engineer. He retired in 1991 as Supervising Highway Engineer.

After retiring Warren enjoyed playing poker, attending sports events, backyard gardening, and loved his dogs. He was honorary Santa Claus for his family, extended family and friends for many Christmas Eves.

Warren is survived by his younger siblings: Clara Pulver of Lakewood, Grover (Virginia) Brown also of Lakewood, Catherine (William) Walters of Denver and Mark (Karen Ferrabee) of Arvada. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 26, 2022, 9am-10:30am, Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood. Burial Service will be held following visitation at 11:30am, Fort Logan National Cemetery.  Please meet at Staging Area B.
