Warren Slater Zeller III

A memorial service for Warren Zeller, of Centennial, will be held Wednesday, December 6, 11:00 a.m. at Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch. An open house reception will follow at the Zeller residence, 6730 E. Geddes Lane, Centennial, CO 80112. Warren, 60, died suddenly on November 29 from complications following a long, courageous battle with lymphoma. He was born on December 13, 1956, in Denver. He was a proud graduate of Columbine High School and Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Warren worked many years in the cable television industry, including leadership roles at TCI and Starz Encore. During the past few years, he also volunteered many hours serving as president of the Homestead in the Willows HOA. Warren’s main passions were faith, family, and sports (a superfan of his kids’ sports endeavors and all high school sports). He was known by family and friends for his loyalty and endearing sense of humor. Stories will be told for years to come about his brief career during college selling umbrella hats and other invaluable “treasures”, as well as his goofy antics while playing family games. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Carolyn Zeller, and his infant son, Peter. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children Brooke, Jeff, and Charlie; his sister Kim Jorgensen (Jim); and a loving extended family of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews. So to all of you lucky enough to have known Warren, thank you. Above everything else, Warren loved his family. Bonnie, Brooke, Jeffrey, and Charlie brought him the most joy in his life. Even despite people living in different parts of the country, the Zellers loved any time together at home in Colorado. For the last 11 years, Warren fought hard every day to keep as much of a normal life as possible. He never complained, despite spending so much more time at the doctor's office / hospital than one should. If you knew Warren, you also know that he loved sports. More specifically, he loved supporting the teams of any college that he had an alma mater connection to: CU, SMU, Wheaton, Michigan, Stanford, and Harvard. He was proud to support the school colors of any of those schools, in addition to Denver's home teams of the Broncos, Nuggets, Avalanche, and Rockies. One of the fondest memories of recent years was a surprise 60th birthday party that the Zeller children threw for Warren in December of 2016. They all traveled to Denver secretly to surprise him with a night out with friends and family, capped off by a video of many of you talking about your favorite memories and stories.
