Wayland J. Anderson

Wayland J. Anderson, 69 of Thornton, CO, passed away on November 15, 2017. He was born August 6, 1948 in Cheyenne, WY to Artice and Warren Anderson. Wayland is survived by his wife Debra Anderson, daughter Sondra Brown, brother Theron Anderson, granddaughter Samantha Brown, and his grandsons Spencer Brown, Ezequiel Colyer and Xzayven Colyer, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Artice and Warren Anderson and his son, Andrew Colyer-Anderson. Memorial services will be held on December 9, 2017 at 10:00am at Elmwood Baptist Church, 13100 E 144th Ave Brighton, CO 80601. Wayland grew up in Albin, WY, where he graduated high school. He went on to the University of Wyoming where he received his BS, MS in Agricultural Engineering. He married his wife of 36 years in 1981. He loved the Lord and spent his entire life active in the church, including singing in the choir. He also chose to serve the Lord by helping those in need. He spent numerous years as a foster parent to many children, as well as hosting foreign exchange students. He retired from Adams County Water and Sanitation in December 2014. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers please bring a new, unwrapped toy to be donated to children in need this Christmas season.
