Wayne M. Lawton P.E., 70, of Lakewood, passed away on November 17, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. Born on March 11, 1948 he was the son of Roy and Marguerite (Burke) Lawton. Wayne married Kathy Sheridan on October 21,1995 and together they shared 23 years of marriage.
Wayne was a mechanical engineer specializing in HVAC with expertise in biological toxic and radio active materials.
He attended Colorado School of Mines.
Wayne's first love was anything on wheels, tricycles, scooters, bikes...etc. His best pal as a child was his dog Peanuts, who always waited by his bike at school and helped him on his paper route. After high school he attended ROTC summer camp and enlisted in the Army, serving from 1968 until 1971.
Living in Washington for seven years, he learned to train huskies for sledding events and participated in several. He raced in Enduro competitions and joined bike clubs in every city where he was residing.
He worked as an HVAC engineer and was a lifetime member of the engineering association ASHRAE. Serving on numerous TC committees. as chairperson, he received many certificates of appreciation.
In December 1997, he traveled to Paris, France and was guest speaker at their winter conference.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 1PM at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, CO, followed by a committal service at 2:30PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Area ""B"", 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd. Denver, CO.
