Wayne Lee Welling

Wayne Lee Welling, 70, of Aurora, CO passed away on May 16, 2017. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Mary Ann and Wayne W. Welling. Wayne is survived by his loving wife; Susan; Daughters Jenna and Allison; Grandchildren Evan Lee Andrew Welling and Isabella Rose Welling-Diggs; Brother James B. Welling; Sister Charlotte A. Welling; Mother-in-law Bernice J. Sevier; Brother-in-law Robert O Sevier; Sister-in-law Marda Sevier; Nephews; Marc Welling, and Matt Welling. Wayne was faithful man who attended Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He was a Knight of Columbus member where he earned his 4th degree ranking. Lee was a Vietnam veteran serving aboard the USS Tutuila which supported the Mobile Riverine Forces at Vung Tau for operations in the Mekong Delta. The ship assisted in the preparation of Assault Support Patrol Boat's and other small patrol craft which included the River Patrol Division I. While serving in Vietnam, Lee was exposed to Agent Orange which contributed to his illness in later years. A Rosary will be held in Wayne's honor 5PM Tuesday 5/23 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (11150 E. Dartmouth Ave Aurora, CO 80014) followed by a visitation from 5-8PM. Funeral Mass at Queen of Peace Catholic Church (13120 E Kentucky Ave, Aurora, CO 80012) Wednesday 5/24 at 10AM followed by reception. Burial at 2PM at Chapel Hill Cemetery (6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121).
