Wesley Larned Folsom, age 88, of Highlands Ranch, CO, went to be with his Lord on July 26, 2023. Wes was born in Albany, CA, on February 19, 1935. He was the second of two boys born to Lee and Melva Folsom. In 1946, the family moved to Walnut Creek, CA, and Wes blossomed as a student in high school in Concord, nearby, where he was a student leader, played in the marching band, and lettered in basketball. He won a full ride scholarship to the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1952, where he earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and an MSIA in Industrial Administration. He met and married Janet Jerles there and they had Mark in Pittsburgh PA, Mitchell in Ft. Huachuca AZ and Mindy in Phoenix AZ.
Wes served two years as an ROTC reserve officer in the US Army computer center in Ft. Huachuca, AZ, and then joined IBM in Phoenix in 1960. The family lived in Scottsdale, AZ, Chatsworth and Riverside, CA, and then moved to Frankfurt, Germany in 1967. They then moved to Boulder, CO, in 1971 where Wes worked as a systems engineer for IBM until he resigned in 1980. Wes started a career as an independent software designer in 1985 which resulted in the foundation of a software company, Evolving Systems, Inc.

On February 19, 1995 - Wes' 60th birthday - they both retired to achieve their goals of keeping their minds and bodies active with bridge and golf, and traveling the world. On October 13, 2013, Judy suffered a cardiac arrest which caused fatal damage to her brain, and she passed away on October 15, 2013. Wes spent many hours reading books about Heaven and Paradise during his grieving years, as well as many hours listening to music which helped him feel close to Judy.
