Wesley E. Mullen Jr.

Wesley Eugene Mullen Jr., age 78, died on January 16, 2009, in Aurora, Colorado, after a long illness. He was born August 3, 1930, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Wesley and Aleen Peterson Mullen. Wes served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1953. He married Mary Lou Benton in 1952. After leaving the military, he received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Utah in 1958. Wes was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Bishop of the Decatur Ward in Illinois and most recently was a temple worker in the Denver Colorado Temple. Wes was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou (2006) and by one grandson, Timothy (2001). He is survived by sons & daughter, Douglas E. (wife, Rebecca A.) Mullen, Washington, Illinois; Paul B. (wife, Rebecca S.) Mullen, Clearwater, Florida; Paul A. (wife, Joyce) Mullen, Decatur, Illinois; Melisa (husband, Clint) Darr, Florissant, Missouri; Aaron J. Mullen, Aurora, CO; Grandchildren: Christopher (wife, Sherry) Mullen; James (wife, Michelle) Mullen; Timothy Mullen; Andrew (wife, Nichole) Mullen; Kara (husband, Daniel) Maughan; Brian Mullen; Jacob Mullen; John Mullen; Katie Mullen; PJ Mullen; Justin Darr; Great-grandchildren: Logan Mullen; Carter Mullen; Michael Mullen; John Mullen; Hailie Whitman; Gabe Mullen; Riley Mullen; Benjamin Maughan; and a sister, Charlotte (husband, Allen) Hughes, Pocatello, Idaho. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2009, from 5:30pm-7:00pm, at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, CO 80014. A Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2009, at 11:00am, LDS Church – Meadowood Ward, 3101 So. Flanders Street, Aurora, CO 80013. Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 So. Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO, at 1:30pm, Shelter ""B"".
