Wilbur C. âBudâ Holp Jr., 85 of Greenwood Village, Colorado, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2019. Bud was born to his parents Gladys Ethel (Bowser) Holp and Wilbur C. Holp Sr. on November 13, 1933 in New Lebanon, Ohio.
Bud attended Dixie High School where he was inducted into the schools Hall of Fame. He continued his education attending the University of Miami Ohio where he received his degree in Mortuary Science. Bud was quite the scholar and was awarded Magna Cum Laude. Bud went on to have a very successful career as a Mortician and Insurance Agent.
Bud was a devote member of the Evergeen Chorale and Evergreen Players. During his free time he enjoyed traveling, and most of all spending time with his family.
Bud is survived by his wife: Loretta M. (Wampler) Holp of 66 years; children: Debbie (Tom) Spitler, Lisa (George) Twardowski, and Jeff Holp; grandchildren: Tricia (Spitler) Teller, Jeremy Spitler, Kimberly (Spitler) Troehler, Zachary Twardowski, Jennifer (Twardowski) Critchlow and Jacob Rocke Holp and 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Shirley Miller and Gloria Etter.
In honor of Bud, a Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2019, 11:00am at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (3101 South Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80227), Funeral Service to follow at 1:00pm. Graveside Service will be held at 2:30pm at Golden Cemetery (755 Ulysses St, Golden, CO 80401).
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Halcyon Hospice & Palliative Care.
