Wilbur "Willy" Schroth

June 5, 1942 — June 22, 2022

Castle Rock

Wilbur “WILLY” Schroth. The man, the myth, the legend. Wilbur Schroth was born on June 5, 1942 and passed away June 22, 2022.

We believe he died from not wanting to have another medical professional poke, stab, remove, inject, extract, practice, and or fill him full of useless information, as he would say. Willy loved classic country music, family, hunting, shooting, fishing, boating, and general BS-ing. Not necessarily in that order. We also called him “chatty chatty blah, blah” He hated vegetables and politicians. Not necessarily in that order. He and Linda loved driving 1000(s) of miles to listen to classic country music. They did this on many of their vacations. Nashville, Branson, and Texas were some of his favorites. He was master craftsman who would remodel everything to make it look or work better. He was always remodeling shooting boxes so it would accommodate everything but the kitchen sink and of course building them out of the most expensive wood available. They are beautiful. He had enough ammo and firearms to stop a zombie apocalypse. Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, James Arness, Roy Rogers and James Garner were a few of his TV heroes. He was a hero and is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Linda, daughter Tami Babylon, son Rodney Schroth and his wife Lisa, grandchildren Ashlee Almquist and husband Steve , Danielle Gold and husband Marc, Tim Hafner and wife Andrea, Keith Hafner and wife Tiffany, and Amie Hafner, and ten great grandchildren Elijah Gold, Wes Gold, Penelope Almquist, Ryder Hafner, Rowen Hafner, Elodie Hafner, Everett Hafner, June Hafner, Jordyn Hafner, and Koven Hafner. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, “neighborhood girlfriends” and many great friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Schroth and Emma Diercks, and siblings Walter Schroth (Evelyn), Bud Schroth, Albert Schroth (Margaret), Freida Mattingly (Matt),  Leonard Schroth, and nephews Bill Schroth and Bob Schroth.
