Willard Benjamin Rogers, Jr., was born in 1935 in Topeka, Kansas and passed away on March 17, 2013. He is survived by his wife Mary Rogers; son Jonathan Rogers; daughters Michelle Hancock and Hilary Young. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Virginia Usher, Ashley Hancock, Ty Young and Lael Rogers-Rea. Will earned his Bachelors of Arts and Science from Washburn University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas, where he met his wife Mary. Will and Mary would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this September 7th. Practicing law for 50 years, he worked as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado, had his own general private law practice and worked as a public defender for the City of Aurora. He was compassionate and caring with his clients and had a passion for knowledge and the law. A renaissance man, he was a husband, father and lawyer; a self-made architect, general contractor, scholar, genealogist, computer and network specialist, musician and cook. Will had a constant quest for knowledge. He learned Latin, German, French and Spanish and loved to travel. Will was a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He loved jazz, polka and comedy. His sense of humor was unique and infectious. He had a passion for life and his family and will be missed dearly. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 1270 Poplar St., in Denver at 2:00 in the afternoon.
