William “Bill” Bailey

William “Bill” Alvin Bailey, 91, of Northglenn, CO, passed away April 19, 2025, at his home. Bill was born on September 11, 1933, in Denver, CO to and George and Genevieve Bailey. He attended school in the Denver area, graduating from Englewood High School in 1951. He joined the Marine Corp. and was stationed in Japan for 4 years.

While serving in Japan, Bill was introduced to Tomie Hashimoto. After dating for some time, Bill and Tomie were married on October 12, 1955, in Tokyo, Japan, and soon left for the U.S. to begin their new life in Colorado.

Bill attained his electrical apprenticeship through the IBEW and began his career with the Englewood School district as an electrician. After gaining experience working for various companies, he was able to complete the requirements for his Master Electrician license. Bill also attained his teaching certificate and taught electrical trade at Bollman Occupational Center in Thornton. Prior to his retirement, Bill was the electrical inspector for the city of Northglenn.

After retiring, Bill and Tomie enjoyed many travels including Alaska, Japan, UK, Ireland, Mexico, and many national parks in the U.S.

Bill is survived by his son, Steve (Sharon) Bailey of Mead, CO, grandson, Dr. Austin Bailey of Reno, NV, and granddaughter, Kaylin Bailey of Firestone, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Genevieve, wife Tomie, son William Jr., and sister, Geneice.

Funeral services will he held at Northglenn Christian church on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. with viewing at 1:00 p.m.

Burial will be at Olinger Cemetery-Highland in Thornton, CO at 3:00 p.m.
