William Joseph Boyer was born April 9, 1927 in Benton, Illinois to Willie and Mary (Gholson) Boyer. He passed from this life November 4, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; daughter Pam; sons Bill, Jr., Dennis, and Sam, plus a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Boyer Epperson. Bill was the founder of Boyer Coffee Company, Inc. in 1967 and despite various setbacks has maintained a successful business for 40-plus years. Since the inception of his business, Bill has had an ongoing relationship with the Denver Rescue Mission - formerly called Jesus Saves. For many years, Bill was a member of University Hills Baptist Church located in Denver but more recently a member of Cornerstone Church of Lone Tree, Colorado. Bill entered the U.S. Navy in May 1944 and was honorably discharged in May 1946 after serving aboard the USS Phoenix. Visitation 5:00 to 7:00 PM Saturday, November 7, 2009, Horan & McConaty, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd. Funeral Service 2:00 PM Sunday, November 8, 2009, University Hills Baptist Church, 2750 S. Clermont Dr., Denver. Interment will be in McLeansboro, Illinois.
