William Lewis Call, known to his friends and family as Bill, was born to Roy Porter Call and Naomi Call in Dallas, Texas in 1933. He earned Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, Juris Doctorate, and Certified Public Accountant degrees before going on to earn a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Houston. After pursuing brief careers in commercial accounting and in the law, he began a long and distinguished career as a Professor of Accounting. He taught accounting and finance for many years at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, and for a short time at Metropolitan State College in Denver. He also worked briefly at the London School of Economics and at California State University, Sacramento. He married Carmen Maria Dishman and had two children with her, Lewis Webb Call and Theresa Marie Call, who think that he was the best dad a person could have. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling retirement in Denver and Littleton, Colorado, and in the many interesting places that he visited in his travels through Europe and the Americas. He enjoyed studying military history (especially naval history) and particle physics. He also enjoyed music, and loved going to the symphony. He loved baseball and football, and was an enthusiastic fan at Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies games. He died September 30, 2019, in Littleton, of natural causes. He is survived by his son Lewis, daughter Theresa, daughter in law Michelle Call, son in law Brian Walker, grandchildren Rory Manley Call and Kate Call, sister Mary Alice Murski, and his companion of 23 years, Margaret Nuttall.
