William H. ""Bill"" Carpenter passed away June 22. He was 86 years old. Bill was born in Denver, CO, attended Denver Public Schools and enlisted as a WWII Navy Corpsman. A grateful recipient of the G.I. Bill, he attended the University of Wisconsin, Marquette University and graduated from the University of Colorado in 1951 where he was a member of Chi Psi Fraternity. Upon graduation he married Patricia (Patti) Panek and embarked upon a 32 year career in petroleum exploration. Upon retirement in 1983, Bill and Patti resided, successively, in Santa Fe, NM and Keystone, CO where he persued his lifelong love of the Rocky Mountains that began as a youth in Cody, Wyoming. A devoted family man, he is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Patricia, daughter Christine (Miguel) Verano, sons John (Jan) and Jim, grandchildren Julia (Jeff), Tommy (Chelsea), Claire (Christopher), and Emily (Ryan), and great-grandchildren Ashlyn and Sean.
