William (Bill) Fredrick Emerich, age 80, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2009. He was born in 1929 in Port Huron, Michigan to the late John and Dorothy Neuman Emerich. Bill was an associate golf pro at Black River Country Club in Port Huron from 1946 to 1951. He then served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean conflict. Returning to Port Huron, he married Dorothy M. Caughill in 1955. Their daughter, Margaret, was born in 1959 while he was attending Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. Bill worked for National Tea Grocery Company in Michigan and Colorado for 20 years. In 1973, he purchased Consolidated Brokerage, where he was a food broker for 35 years until December 2009. Bill was an avid golfer and sports fan. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Littleton for 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy; his daughter Margaret Emerich and her husband Mike Elms, of Arvada; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Emerich was preceded in death by four brothers, Samuel, John, Chuck, and Alex; and two sisters, Otillia Rossow and Freida Emerick. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2:00 PM with reception to follow, both at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, ELCA, 6322 South Lakeview Street, in Littleton, Colorado.
