William J. Frias, 88, of Denver, Colorado, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016. He was born September 22, 1927 in Los Angeles, California. William was the son of Jesus Frias and Faustina Clemente. After high school he enlisted in the Army Air Corp in 1945. He served 2 years in Okinawa, Japan where he was assigned to the 8th Army Air Corp. He was honorably discharged in January 1949 and was proud to be part of America's ""greatest generation"". He met Antonia Vigil while in the Army and they married in February 1949 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They soon moved to Denver making it their life long home and remained married 54 wonderful years. William's lifelong career as a baker began in 1949 and did not end until his retirement in 1992. He was proud to have worked for Town Talk Bakery, followed by Star Bread Bakery; and his longest tenure was at Orowheat Bakery. He took great pride in his work, but his heart and soul belonged to his family as husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and, most importantly, a friend. He was a beacon of hope for the family, a role he shared with his beloved wifeâAntonia⦠he the beloved patriarch and she the beloved matriarch. As a role model, he inspired future generations to succeed and achieve their dreams. William is preceded in death by his wife, Antonia Frias. He is survived by sons Mark (Nancy) Frias, David (Wanita) Frias, daughters, Nora Rimando and Noreen (Edward) Veniegas. 13 grandchildren; Brian (Raquel) Frias, Ron (Catia) Frias, Abbie (Thomas) Morris, Paul Veniegas, Victoria Veniegas ( Joe Reed), David Veniegas, Sara Veniegas (Jonathan De La Cruz), Savannah Veniegas, Kerry (Jason) Pettner, Melanie Frias (Jason Markovitz), Michael (Dora) Ortiz, Jason (Mary) Ortiz and Jessica Ortiz. 15 great grandchildren; Ashley Ortiz, Alyssa Ortiz, Zeanna Ortiz, Olivia Ortiz, Sophie Ortiz, Maddie Ortiz, Anjali Frias, Annabelle Frias, Anya Morris, Katie Morris, T.J.Morris, Devin Frias, Jaden Markovitz, Maliya Markovitz and Aiyanna De La Cruz. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 starting at 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM both at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. Interment to follow the Funeral Mass.
