William was born in Chicago Illinois to Matthew and Edith (Simpson) Harte in August of 1933. He is survived by Wife of 57 years Beverly (nee Burns), 3 sons; Matthew (fiancée Joanne), Michael (Michelle), and Gregory (Lorna). He has 5 grandchildren; Holly, Alison, Isaac, William and Lilli, his sister Maria Lydon (Don), and sisters in law Peggy Majerus and, Barbara McWhirter. He enlisted into the Air Force 24 September of 1952. He served in Korea as a logistics and supply specialist with the 120th Fighter Wing. After his time in Korea he returned to the United States to Malmstrom AF Base in Montana. When he completed his active duty commitment he entered the Air National Guard where he served for a 10 years. He moved his family to Chicago where he worked at US Steel for 20 years and raised his family. After retiring from US Steel, William decided to continue his military career. He re-enlisted into the Air National Guard in Montana and completed both a Federal and Military career. He retired from the Montana Air National Guard 29 August 1993. He moved to Littleton CO where he and his wife Beverly enjoyed their retired years with their grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 9:15am at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area ""C"", 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard in Denver.
