William Richard Jacobs

William ""Bill"" Richard Jacobs, 61, of Westminster, Colorado, passed away December 1, 2016, following a courageous 2-year battle with cancer. Bill was born September 1, 1955 in Beloit, Wisconsin to Donald and Norma Owens Jacobs. He attended Beloit Public Schools and graduated from Beloit Memorial High. He enjoyed ski jumping, motorcycle riding, playing baseball and swimming in the backyard pool on 2022 Highland Avenue as a child. Bill joined the United States Army in 1972 and went on to serve 3-years as a heavy equipment operator in Europe. Upon an honorable discharge from the Army, he served 3-years in the Army Reserves. Bill then went to work for American Laminate products and Taylor Freezer. Bill had two wonderful and loving children from his first marriage with Sarah Jane Carroll – Ryan (32) and Trent (30). He moved to Denver in 1982 while with Taylor Freezer. Bill eventually became an independent sales agent selling commercial restaurant equipment in the Denver area. Bill met and married his best friend and loving wife of 20 years, Shaina Ranae Windell while working together in Denver. They were married June 1, 1996 in Morrison, Colorado and they had three wonderful children; Sydnie (12), Rylie (12) and Zachary (7 - Bill's mini me). Most recently he was a successful sales consultant for Camping World in Longmont, Colorado. Bill loved life, his job and his family, and had a genuine zest for life! Bill enjoyed golf, skiing, camping, fishing and most every outdoor sport. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and loved watching their games every season. He also enjoyed his Church and sharing his faith with his family and congregation. He gained many lifelong friendships through his love for God. Bill loved spending time at his in-laws in Kanorado, Kansas, Vick and Rick Windell and his extended Kansas family. He loved enjoying the outdoors and ""teaching"" his father-in-law and brother-in-law how to farm! Truth be told - he just liked riding in the fancy tractors. Bill enjoyed spending time and golfing with Rob and Larry in Kansas. He had friends from far and wide, from high school to recent acquaintances and everyone who met Bill loved him and became a friend for life. One thing you would always recognize in Bill was his huge, genuine and infectious SMILE! We will miss him greatly! Bill is survived by his wife, Shaina Ranae Jacobs; their three children, Sydnie Victoria, Rylie Lynn and Zachary Cole Jacobs; two sons, Trent Allen and Ryan William Jacobs; his mother, Norma Jean Jacobs; sister and brothers, Lori Ann (Todd Stocks) Jacobs; Donald Walter (Cynthia) Jacobs, Gary Leonard (Sherry) Jacobs; Shaina's parents, Rickie and Victoria Windell; Shaina's siblings, Brandie (Lee) Ihrig and Leeanna Windell. Bill is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other extended family members and many dear friends. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Donald. A service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, Colorado 80227. A viewing will begin at 10:00am. Burial with Honors for Bill's Military service will be held at 1:00pm, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Blvd., Denver – Area 'A'. Family and friends are invited to join the family for a reception at 4:00pm, at Genesis Church, 12301 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80241.
