William ""Bill"" Dale Johnson

William ""Bill"" Dale Johnson, 73, Aurora, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018. He was a United States Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. During his service he received two Purple Heart medals. After his military service, Bill graduated from the University of Denver receiving a master's degree in accounting in 1977. He was an avid supporter of the Boys Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of the USA. He was a member at St. Pius X Parish, the D.A.V., and Adaptive Adventures hand cycling group. He enjoyed calligraphy, wood carving and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents Charles and Frances Ellis Johnson, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Johnson.
He leaves behind his wife of nearly 50 years, Bonita Wasik Johnson; daughter, Jennifer (Gregory) Czajka; son, David (Jennifer) Johnson; grandchildren, Gillian Czajka, Sarah, Tabetha and Charles Johnson; brother, Tom (Gail) Johnson; and a nephew, Jon Johnson. Several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., on Thursday, July 12, 2018, 6:00 – 8:00 PM beginning with a Rosary prayer service.
A funeral mass to honor the life of Bill Johnson will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 13, 2018, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 13670 E. 13th PL, Aurora, CO 80011. A military committal service will be conducted at 12:30 PM, at Fort Logan National Cemetery. All those wishing to attend should meet the family at 12:15 PM at staging area B. A reception will immediately follow at HeartLight, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., till 4:00 PM.
