William R. ""Bill"" Jones

William R. ""Bill"" Jones, Sr., age 81, of Denver, beloved husband of Carolyn ""CJ"" Jones. Survived by sons, Bill Jones (Marki), Jim Jones (Kay); 6 grandchildren, Matt, Mark, Mike, Melissa, Jake, Ike; 5 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by children, Kathi Louise Jones, Dick Jones; parents, James and Vendla Jones, and parents in law. Bill retired after 40 years from Continental Airlines. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War and was an active member of the American Legion Post 22. Bill was a School Board member for District 12 and a longtime faithful member of Northglenn United Methodist Church. He volunteered as a youth coach in Northglenn baseball, football, and basketball. He enjoyed fishing with his sons, especially at Cottonwood Creek, trips to Iowa for family visits, taking cruise vacations with CJ, and spending time together with his family. A Memorial Service will take place at 4:00pm, Fri., Aug. 26, at Northglenn UMC, 1605 W. 106 th Ave., Northglenn, CO 80234. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pastor's Fund at Northglenn UMC at the above address or to the Colorado Wounded Veterans c/o American Legion Post 22, 11081 Irma Dr., Northglenn, CO 80233.
