William Andrew “Andy” Knapp, Jr., age 61, died suddenly from a heart attack at his home on Sunday, November 8, 2020.
Andy was born September 13, 1959, at Tachikawa Air Force Base in Japan. Coming from a military family, Andy lived in many places including Montgomery, Alabama; Reno, Nevada; Rapid City, South Dakota; Minot, North Dakota; Rantoul, IL and then settled in the Denver area when his father retired from the military. He graduated from Cherry Creek High School in 1977 where he lettered in wrestling.
Andy was employed for 26 years with Burger King Corporation in operations management. Later, he was the owner/operator of Delivery Pros, Inc. for ten years, in association with Best Buy. Andy’s version of retirement was to continue working, but on his own schedule, allowing him to spend more time with his children. He chose to drive for rideshare apps and genuinely enjoyed the social interaction with his customers.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki Knapp; his son, William Andrew “Drew”; his daughter, Andrea Suzanne, and Holly Knapp, (Drew’s mother), former wife and good friend.
Andy is additionally survived by his six siblings: Andrea, Suzanne, Karen Dahl (Tarpon Springs, FL), Eric, Christopher, and Gregory. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, William Andrew and Joyce Knapp.
