William Horace Maestas, 89, passed away on March 14th, 2024 in the comfort of his home. He was born on August 7th, 1934 in Leadville,CO to Alberto and Fabriciana Maestas.
William moved to Denver, where he met and married the love of his life, Elisaida (Betty) Martinez. He joined the Army in 1956 serving our country during the Korean War. Upon his return from service, he continued his previous work in the refrigeration industry and eventually began contracting independently for the Coca-Cola Company, which subsequently led to him working as the Service Manager for their Fountain Division. This eventually led to the development of his company, Bill’s Fountain Service, where he worked until his retirement.
Many knew William by Bill, Billy, or Willie and to his family he was known as Dad, Gramps, and great-Papa, but all knew him as a loving friend, kind soul and a true gentleman.
He enjoyed playing cards, bowling and watching the Denver Broncos, but he was best known for his love of golf and was recently recognized as the longest standing member of the Metro Seniors Golf Club.
He is reunited with his beloved wife, Betty, who passed away in 1988. He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers and 2 sisters, whom he truly adored. He will be missed immensely by the family he leaves behind, his children, Randy (Judy), Peter (Rochelle), Teresa, and Ted (Sergio), his grandchildren, Billy (Brittany), Jake, Raymond (Chelsea), Krista, Ashly (Anthony), Ben, and his great-grandchildren Acalia, Brooks, William and Ethan.
Services will be held at
St. Jude’s Catholic Church,
9495 W Florida Ave.
Lakewood CO. 80232
Rosary will be held on April 3rd, 2024 at 7pm.
Funeral Mass will be held on April 4th, 2024 at 10:30am
Interment immediately following mass at Ft. Logan National Cemetery
Family and friends are invited to join the family for a reception at the Lakewood Elks 1455 Newland St. Lakewood CO 80214
