William ""Bill"" C. Roush, 86, a long-time resident of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014. He was a resident at New Dawn Memory Care in Aurora. He was born May 1, 1927, in Point Township, Northumberland, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Simon A. and Esther M. (Shaffer) Roush. He was raised on the Roush Dairy Farm in PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Benjamin, Luther, and Theodore, and sisters Anna, Nina, Boone, Christine, and Mary. Mr. Roush was a U.S. Army veteran and had served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He held many positions during his military career, including cook, medic, and drill sergeant. Mr. Roush also was a sergeant in ""The Old Guard"" - 3rd Infantry, 1st Battle Group, Company A, Ft. Meyer, Virginia, whose mission was to provide security cordons for the President of the United States and was the U.S. Marching Company for parades welcoming visiting heads of State. Mr. Roush received many awards, including several Bronze Service Stars during his military career. Following his military career, Mr. Roush enjoyed a civil service career as a machinist, employed at the Lowry AFB. After his retirement as a machinist, Mr. Roush obtained his real estate license, worked in automobile sales, and volunteered as an usher at Coors Field for Colorado Rockies baseball games. He was a long-time member of the National Rife Association and the Golden Gun Club in Watkins, Colorado. He is survived by his long-time beloved companion Myung ""Kimmie"" Horning of Aurora, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are by Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, CO. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday at Horan & McConaty, immediately followed by military burial at 12:30 p.m. at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver.
