William James Secord

William James Secord, US Navy (Ret), passed away March 29, 2015 at the age of 88. He was born August 29, 1926 to William F. and Alice (Powers) Secord in Denver, Colorado. Bill was preceded in death by his son Craig Secord, brothers Don Secord and Ken Secord; sister Beverly Hart and brother-in-law, Charles Rieckhoff. Survivors include wife, Bette Secord; son, Bill Secord II; daughter-in-law, Diane Secord; daughter Cathy Secord; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Bernadine Langfield and Loretta Rieckhoff; brother-in-law, Bob Hart; multiple nieces and nephews. The Recitation of the Rosary will take place on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 beginning at 6:30 in the evening with a wake following at 7:00 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue in Aurora. The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 beginning at 10:00 in the morning at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4377 Utica Street, in Denver. Burial will follow at 2:00 in the afternoon at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Heather Ridge Foundation, Holy Family Parish, or The Alzheimer's Foundation.
