William P. ""Bill"" Shea

William ""Bill"" Shea was born in Oak Park, Illinois on April 10, 1929 to Patrick and Bertha Shea and passed away surrounded by family on March 20, 2014 in Centennial, Colorado. Bill is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Mary Jean, his children, Sue Kerr (Tim), Lisa Field (Lane), Will Shea (Nettie) and Julie Kerr (Brian); fourteen grandchildren, Nate (Jamie), Luke (Melissa), Rachel (Alan), Liz, Joe, Mary (Matt), Kevin, Anne, Liam, Clare, John, Chris, Catherine and Bonnie; ten great-grandchildren, Drew, Molly, Peter, Alaina, Bella, William, Kate, Jake, Xavier and Abby, brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Jim, Peg and Kathy Birmingham and numerous, nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Chapman. Bill grew up in Cicero, IL and proudly served his country in the Air Force for four years. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles but didn't pursue it because at 23 he felt he was too old for a career in baseball. He cultivated a love for baseball in all of us. He attended De Paul University and started a career in advertising. His career brought him to Littleton, CO in August of 1967. He and Mary Jean were very active in St. Mary's parish. He was a devoted and cherished husband, father and Papa. A Rosary will be held Monday, March 24, 2014 7:00 PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 6853 S. Prince Street, Littleton. Interment will be private.
